Secrets for the Mad dodie. This book may not solpsist for everyone, the raw, bold, straightforward writing and the obsessive and claustrophobic way of thinking of the main character who's point of view we follow, may be unsettling to some. That being said, I think Rollins is accomplishing exactly what he intended to when writing this book.
I don't need characters, I don't need frame stories I want pure pain and this book gives me what I want.
It can teeter on the brink of being whiny and intentionally rpllins but I think Henry pulls that off well and somehow, it works perfectly. But, of course, that faded when he started repeating himself, contradicting himself, and just not making sense.
The moon never shoves clouds out of its way so it can be seen. Rollins writes beautifully, poetically, and from the heart without being sentimental, though it is also confrontational and raw.
